Theresa Fraser is a life-time member of the Ontario Association of Child and Youth Care after winning the Dennis McDermott Career Achievement Award and is a current board member for the Nova Scotia Child and Youth Worker Association. She is the Lead Therapist and Executive Director of the Maritime Play Therapy Centre and is adjunct faculty at Mount St. Vincent University.

Trauma is often delineated into three types of experiences, acute, chronic or complex. CYC-Ps’ and those we walk beside are not immune to experiences that can fall into any of these categories especially during current world times. The day to day required living adaptations due to the Covid 19 pandemic can oppressively impact people acutely, chronically or in complex ways.

This short three-hour training will support supervisors in:

  • Identifying how to support their team members developmentally within the supervisory relationship taking into consideration the supervisor and supervisee’s social location.
  • Apply the Circle of Courage model in supervision.
  • Determine what other resources are required to meet supervisees where they are at

This training aligns with competencies in the Professionalism domain of CYCCB competencies.
